Damaged trim is the kind of thing you stop seeing until you are about to sell or repaint: a baseboard the dog worked over, door casing split where a lock once forced it, a window sill going soft from condensation, MDF trim swollen at the bottom from a wet mop or a past leak. Individually small, but together they make a well-kept house read as tired.

Good trim repair is mostly judgment about patch versus replace. A dent or chewed edge in solid wood can be filled with two-part filler, shaped and sanded so it disappears under paint. Swollen MDF baseboard repair is different — once the fibres have wicked water there is no shrinking them back, so the damaged length gets cut out and a matching piece spliced in. Window sill repair depends on how far rot or delamination has travelled; we cut back to sound material, treat it, and rebuild or replace. Every repair ends with filling, caulking and sanding so the paint line is continuous.
