Drywall damage shows up the same way across the GTA: a doorknob through the wall, anchor holes from the last tenant, corner dings from moving day, and the ceiling stain left over after a fixed leak. Older Toronto houses add their own problem — real plaster over wood lath that cracks in webs and cannot be patched like modern board. A bad repair is easy to spot because the patch telegraphs through the paint.

A proper patch means cutting back to sound material, backing the hole, taping, then two or three thin coats feathered wide and sanded flat before primer.
